Day 01: Bhubaneswar - Auckland
On arrival, you will be met and privately transferred to your hotel. Rest of the day is free at leisure.
Auckland - an exciting, sporting and cultural city, sprawled on a narrow isthmus, between two harbours. The Waitemata and Manukau Harbours, are a main feature of the city, along with numerous volcanic cones such as Mount Eden and Rangitoto Island. The city's many beaches, marinas and parks, make it ideal for outdoor pursuits such as yachting, rugby, cricket or a day at the beach. The Auckland metropolitan area is New Zealand's biggest city, and the population mix of European, Maori, and Pacific Islander, make Auckland the largest Polynesian city in the World.
Day 2: Auckland - Rotorua
Today morning after breakfast drive to Rotorua to visit Waitomo Glow Worm Caves (Summer 9am-5.30pm, winter 9am-5pm)
Stop at the sensational Waitomo Caves, the glow worm adorned environment will provide some very intriguing sightseeing. Over your 45 minute guided tour, you'll take in the spectacular Glowworm Cave with its majestic and ornate cave decorations, the deep limestone shaft known as the Tomo and the equally magnificent Cathedral. Your tour guide will deliver an informative and entertaining commentary, sharing stories, cultural legends and the natural wonders of this living masterpiece. Your visit concludes with a brief, yet remarkably moving, boat trip through the Glowworm Grotto.
Hobbiton Movie Set & Farm Tours
Experience the real Middle-earth with a visit to the Hobbiton Movie Set, the bucolic setting for The Shire that featured in the Peter Jackson directed films, The Lord of the Rings. Your tour starts with a drive through the picturesque 1,250 acre sheep farm with spectacular views across to the Kaimai Ranges. Your guide will escort you through the ten acre site recounting fascinating details of how the Hobbiton set was created. The Hobbit holes, Green Dragon Inn, Mill and other structures created for The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit films can be viewed and you will see how this beautiful piece of Waikato farmland was transformed into The Shire from Middle-earth. Upon completion of your tour of the set you will return to The Shires Rest, before returning to Rotorua.

Rotoura - located on a volcanic plateau, and formerly a spa town, Rotorua is most famous for its geothermal activity. Rotorua is the main place in New Zealand where aspects of Maori traditions can be seen, from wood carvings, and meeting houses, to a Hangi Dinner and Maori dances. Native and introduced tree species abound locally and combined with several picturesque lakes, Rotorua is a fascinating mix of culture and nature.
Day 03: Rotorua
Post breakfast go for Rotorua sightseeing (by drive) including Te Puia Thermal Reserve and New Zealand Maori Arts & Crafts Institute guided tour, Rainbow Springs admission and Agrodome sheep show.
Te Puia (open summer 8am-6pm, winter 8am-5pm Guided tours hourly from 9am, daytime Maori concerts 10.15am, 12.15pm & 3.15pm)
Te Puia and Maori Arts and Crafts Institute where History is carved and woven into meeting houses, canoes, weapons and jewellery. You will also experience the wonders of the thermal area by stepping into an ancient valley where geysers, mud pools and boiling waters still play after 40,000 years.
Admission to Rainbow Springs Trout and Fauna Sanctuary where you will see a live Kiwi, a living dinosaur (the Tuatara), feed the rainbow trout and enjoy a stroll through the beautiful New Zealand native bush.
Agrodome Sheep Show is presented three times daily - 9:30am, 11:00am and 2:30pm, duration of one hour. An exciting and informative insight into agriculture in New Zealand, including an introduction to our 19 breeds of sheep, sheep shearing demonstration, lively Auction, noisy Huntaway dogs and the quiet Strong-eye dog demonstrations, cow milking and lamb feeding opportunities.
Lakeland Queen Dinner Cruise (7pm-9pm)
The delightful 3-hour dinner cruise offers you plenty of entertainment and a great range of delicious culinary choices. We leave the Rotorua Lakeside at 7.00 pm and gently cruise along viewing the city lights and sights by night.
Enjoy the mouth-watering flavours of the variety of international dishes from the buffet during the Dinner Cruise. There is a range of delightful food to choose from including carvery, seafood, salads, and fantastic desserts. After dinner, it is time to relax or dance the night away. There are full bar facilities on board, offering you a great selection of fine wine, beers and spirits.
You will surely have a lot of fun on board the Lakeland Queen before docking again at 9.00 pm.

Day 04: Rotorua - Christchurch
Today post breakfast drive to airport. Drop off your rental car before flight check in. Depart Rotorua for Christchurch (air fare not included). Upon arrival in Christchurch, shared transfer to your hotel.
Christchurch - the Garden City, lies on the level plains that initially attracted the closely knit Church of England settlers that settled the area. The largest of the South Island cities, Christchurch retains something of the English nature of its origins - the willow and oak-lined River Avon and clustered mediaeval stone buildings.
Day 05: Christchurch - Glacier Region
Today after breakfast shall be transferred to Christchurch railway station. Depart Christchurch on Tranz Alpine Train. Upon arrival at Greymouth railway station, pick up your rental car and drive to the Glacier Region of Franz Josef or Fox Glacier.
Tranz Scenic Christchurch to Greymouth (7.55am-12.45pm)
Today you will board the TranzAlpine scenic train departing from one coast of New Zealand and arriving at the other. Your train journey is 223.8 kilometres long and takes just four and a half hours. There are 16 tunnels, and 5 viaducts, the highest being the Staircase standing at 73 metres.
From your carriage you'll see the fields of the Canterbury Plains, beautiful gorges and river valleys of the Waimakariri River. The spectacular Southern Alps and the lushness of Beech rain forest.
An open air viewing carriage allows you to get even closer to the stunning scenery and provides many opportunities to photograph your favourite spots. There's a lot to look forward to before arriving at your destination.
Franz Josef Glacier - originally named Victoria, after Queen Victoria of England, geologist Julius Von Haast, renamed it, Franz Josef, after the current Emperor of his homeland, Austria. The Glacier is pale blue/green ice that has retreated and advanced many times over the years. A walk from the carpark to the Glacier terminal will give you some impressive views and an idea of the immense size of the Glacier itself. The township of Franz Josef is a small town based around the tourist and supply trade.
Day 06: Glacier Region - Queenstown
This morning after breakfast drive to Queenstown. On arrival check in to Hotel. Overnight at Queenstown
Queenstown - is the South Island's most popular resort, set alongside the shores of Lake Wakatipu, under the gaze of the Remarkables Ranges. See the contrast of smooth glacier rounded hills, and jagged mountain summits that reach high above the ancient ice floor. The town is renowned for its jet boating, bungy-jumping, skiing and awe-inspiring scenery. Local story has it, that the gold prospectors of the 19th century pronounced the town as "fit for any Queen", and so she was called Queenstown.
Day 07: Queenstown - Doubtful Sound - Queenstown
Post breakfast drive to Manapouri. Enjoy Doubtful Sound Wilderness Cruise. Drive back to Queenstown after the tour.
Real Journeys Doubtful Sound Cruise & Coach from Queenstown
This morning, you will be collected from Queenstown and travel to Manapouri. Depart from Pearl Harbour, Manapouri, and cruise across picturesque Lake Manapouri to West Arm. Travel by coach over Wilmot Pass, through dense rainforest. Once at Doubtful Sound, board the Patea Explorer, for a 3 hour cruise of beautiful Doubtful Sound, to the Tasman Sea. There is excellent viewing of waterfalls, rainforest, and mountains. Of particular interest, if sighted, are fur seals basking on the rocks, or a resident pod of bottlenose dolphins. The rare Fiordland crested penguins are sometimes encountered, depending on the season. At some point during your day, you have the chance to visit the Manapouri Underground Power Station. Return to Queenstown at the end of your journey

Day 08: Queenstown
Cooked breakfast is included at the hotel. Visit Real Journeys Walter Peak High Country.(15 Oct - 15 Apr departs 10am returns 13.30hrs, All Year (excluding Survey period late May - Early July when a substitute launch will be used ) departs 12noon returns 15.30hrs & departs 2pm returns 17.30hrs)
Report to the Real Journeys Visitor Centre, at the Steamer Wharf, in Queenstown. Board the TSS Earnslaw (unless she is on survey, in which case it will be a launch) and take the 40 minute voyage to the Walter Peak High Country Farm. Enjoy the chance to wander around the beautiful lakeside gardens, and enjoy a coffee/tea and home baking in the Colonel's Homestead. The farm demonstrators take you on a walking tour of the farmyard, and take the chance to view the animals, sheep, red deer, and Scottish highland cattle. Watch sheep shearing, and sheep dogs working stock. After your time, return via the TSS Earnslaw, to Queenstown Wharf.
Skyline Gondola & Restaurant - Return Gondola
Enjoy a return Skyline Gondolaride to the summit of Bob's Peak where you can enjoy panoramic views of Queenstown and Lake Wakatipu.

Mount Cook - whose Maori name "Aorangi" means "Cloud Piercer" is some 3753.5 metres high and surrounded by a host of massive peaks. Mount Cook is New Zealand's highest mountain, and can quite often be surrounded by cloud, constantly vulnerable to the fast changing weather patterns of an alpine climate.

Reporting time for your flight at this short scenic option is the ideal opportunity to touch snow and experience the thrill of a helicopter flight. Sweep through the rugged high country landscape of the Ben Ohau Mountain Range to a landing site on a snow field high in the mountains. Enjoy the fantastic vista from this alpine setting as you look out to the mountains and glaciers, and down into the valleys that were carved out by glaciers centuries ago.
