Day 01 :Arrive Chennai

Arrive Chennai, the capital city, popularly regarded as the 'Gateway to the South' represents a culture that is distinctly different from that of northern India. Transfer & check in to Hotel. PM visit Kapaleshwar Temple, Santhome Cathedral, Parthsarthy Temple, Marina Beach and National Art Gallery.

Day 02 : Chennai to Mahabalipuram ,Shore Temple

Morning drive to Kanchipuram. Kanchipuram, 70 kms west of Mahabalipuram, this city of thousand temples lies. One of the seven sacred cities of Hindus, it was the capital of the early Cholas as far back as the 2nd century BC. Kanchi was a major seat of Tamil learning as well as an important place of pilgrimage for Buddhists, Jains and Hindus. Drive to Mahabalipuram, on arrival check into Hotel. PM visit Shore Temple, Crocodile Bank, Arjuna's Penance and Tiger Caves.

Day 03 :Mahabalipuram to Pondicherry ,Sri Aurobindo Ashram

Drive to Pondicherry, on arrival check into Hotel. PM visit Shri Aurobindo Ashram,the place around which Pondy revolves. The samadhi is serene and always beddecked with flowers. One can sit near the Samadhi and mediate for few minutes.

Day 04: Pondicherry-Auroville-Pondicherry Beach

Visit the Government Museum located in the Bharathi Park, "the green centre of the French Town". Auroville, often known as the "City of Dawn". Visit Arikamedu, an archechological site. Evening stroll down the Promende Beach. There is a 1.5 long promenade, which houses many landmarks, such as the War Memorilal and statues of Jeane d' Arch and Mahatma Gandhi.

Day 05:Pondicherry to Tanjore -Brihadeeswara Temple

Drive to Tanjore - The home of Carnatic music, musical instruments, dance and traditional hadicrafts, Tanjore (Thanjavur) is famous for the Brihadeeswara Temple. The temple constructed more than a thousand years ago by the Chola King Raja Rajan is an architect's marvel. Witness the Palace, Art Gallery and Saraswati Mahal Library.

Day 06: In Tanjore -Trichy

Morning proceed for a day excursion to Trichy. Visit Rock Fort Temple. The Rock Fort situated on the banks of the Kaveri river, Trichy's most famed land mark is an 84 m high rock, one of the oldest in the world aprox.3,800 million years. The attraction is not for fort itself but the temple at the summit. 344 steps hewn out of rock lead to the top where are the inscriptions dating back to the 3rd century B.C. Later visit Tiruvanaikkaval Temple, Elakurichi and Vayaloor.

Day 07:Tanjore to Madurai

Drive to Madurai, known as Athens of the East, is the second largest city on the banks of the River Vigai. The city believed to be more than 2500 yeras old. PM visit Sri.Meenakshi Sundareswar Temple, Thirumalai Nayak Palace, Thirupparankundram Temple, Alagar Koil and Gandhi Museum.

Day 08: Madurai to Rameshwaram

Drive to Rameshwaram. Visit Ramanathaswamy Temple, Agnitheertham, Ramjharoka Temple, Dhanushkodi and Adam's Bridge.

Day 09:Departure-Rameshwaram – Bhubaneswar

Today is to say good bye to our prolonged South India tour. Transfer to Railway Station to board train back home with sweet memories of holidays.
