WONDERFUL SINGAPORE

2 NIGHTS / 3 DAYS

Day 01 :Singapore Flyer

Start your first day in Singapore with a traditional Singaporean breakfast, which you can buy in any local coffee shop. A good Singaporean breakfast will feature toast called kaya and runny eggs, along with sweet, strong coffee known as kopi. This is a nice way to set yourself up for a busy day exploring, and it is also nice to be among the local people as they head out to work.

Your first stop should be the Singapore Flyer – a giant Ferris wheel of the sort now found in many of the world's major cities (think of the London Eye). From the Flyer, you get amazing panoramic views all across Singapore, so this is a good first stop as you can pick out some of the other places you'll be visiting later. The first 'flights' are at 8:30am, so you can make an early start if you want to.

After your ride on the Singapore Flyer, I highly recommend visiting the Fullerton Hotel for a drink, or, if you want to push the boat out, for lunch. This stunning white building just over the Cavenagh Bridge was originally Singapore's post office, but is now one of the most luxurious and expensive hotels.

If the Fullerton Hotel doesn't do enough to quench your thirst for luxury, you can also check out the Singapore Marina Bay Sands resort. Built and run by Las Vegas Sands, this is a glamorous and exciting resort featuring a fabulous casino, along with boutiques, restaurants, bars and much more. Its stunning location on the waterfront is worth the visit on its own!

Marina Bay Sands After the excitement and luxury of the Fullerton and the Marina Bay Sands, why not get back to nature and do something free? The Singapore Botanic Gardens are open until midnight, and the only admission fee is for the National Orchid Garden, so if you spent more than you hoped during the rest of the day you can have a pleasant and guilt free time here! There are a number of different themed gardens, including a rainforest, a ginger garden and the Evolutionary Garden, which is very interesting.

Day 02 : Singapore River and Chinatown

The first day's itinerary was very much about seeing modern Singapore and having a good time, so on day two I have made things a bit more cultural! Singapore is a really diverse place with influences from other parts of Asia resting alongside elements of traditional British culture. I strongly recommend visiting Little India, which is to the East of the Singapore River, and Chinatown which is across from Little India on the West side of the river to experience how different ethnic groups have made parts of Singapore their own, and try out some great food. After this, head down South Bridge Road with its many fascinating Chinese medicine shops, and you will be unable to miss the enormous four story temple which houses a relic of one of the Buddha's teeth. The Buddha Tooth Relic itself can only be seen before 11am and even then only from a distance, but if you don't make it in time the temple itself is still well worth a look. The roof is home to 10,000 miniature statues of the Buddha! Once the sun goes down, head to the Night Safari, the world's first nocturnal zoo. Here you can travel on foot or by tram and see over 1,000 different animals, including tigers and rhinos, behaving as they naturally would at night. This zoo's design is really clever, with the animals separated from the guests by natural barriers like moats and cattle grids rather than bars, and smart lighting designed to simulate moonlight (so as not to disturb the animals' normal nocturnal activities) which allows you to get a good look at them even though it is dark.

Day 03 : skydive

On your final day in Singapore, travel to the island resort of Sentosa, which can be reached by monorail or cable car, and check out some of the fun attractions there. Sentosa is packed with things to do, so plan your day around the ones that appeal most – do you want to skydive in a vertical wind tunnel, visit a huge water park with massive barrel waves, go zip lining, try the luge, or swim with dolphins? All of this and more is possible here, and there is also the historic Fort Siloso and the Tiger Sky Tower to take a look at. You could easily spend three days in Sentosa alone, and if you are anything like me you'll be planning your next trip out here before the day is over!

Finally, before you leave, head to Bugis Street for some retail therapy and to buy any souvenirs you want to take home to your friends. When I did my shopping there, I was pleasantly surprised when Globe's low cost mobile data allowed me to get in touch with my friends and family quickly and asked what souvenirs to get for them.

Bugis Street used to be known for its unique transgender culture, but has been completely reimagined since the 1980â€ēs and is now a vibrant, world-class shopping destination. So, there you have it – three days to sample luxury, culture, nature and excitement in one of the world's most fascinating and fun cities! If you try this tour, I hope you have as much of a blast as I did checking out all of these amazing places.
