The Golden Chariot - Pride of The South is a unique rail holiday to discover the magical land of Karnataka in South India and absorb its rich history and culture. Relax as the magnificent scenery unfolds outside your window with luxury on the inside. The Golden Chariot - Pride of The South Train Tour starts on every Monday of the week from Bengaluru and ends in Bengaluru on the following Monday morning.

Day 01 :(Monday) Bengaluru

Begin your tour at the luxurious Taj West End Bengaluru. Enjoy High Tea at the Banquet Hall followed by a presentation on The Golden Chariot Tour, Do's and Don'ts, safety and security instructions. This is followed by a visit to the Chitrakala Parishad / Art Gallery with Cultural Show. Later depart for the Yeshwantpur Railway Station where you are welcomed aboard the train. Dinner onboard the Golden Chariot. Depart for Mysore. Overnight on the train.

Day 02:(Tuesday) Mysore - Kabini

Post breakfast, set off on a visit to the Mysore Palace. Later depart for Kabini. Lunch at the Jungle Lodges followed by a Jungle Safari. See a wildlife film in the evening. Dinner and overnight at the Jungle Lodges.

Day 03:(Wednessday)Mysore

Set off on an early morning Boat Safari. After breakfast, depart for Mysore to board The Golden Chariot. Lunch on board the train. Post lunch, set off on sightseeing in Mysore including Srirangapatnam and some shopping. Later, enjoy a cultural performance followed by dinner at the Lalitha Mahal Palace Hotel. Return on board The Golden Chariot.

Day 04: (Thursday) Hassan

Early morning departure from Mysore to Hassan. Visit Shravanabelagola, home to the 57-feet tall monolithic statue of Gommateshvara that dates back to 981 AD. It is considered to be the world's largest monolithic stone statue. Please note that you would have to climb close to 700 steps to experience this architectural marvel. Guests who are not interested in this climb can stay back on board the train. Return to The Golden Chariot to partake of lunch. Set off on a sightseeing tour of Belur and Halebidu. Return to the train for dinner. Depart to Hospet. Overnight on the train.

Day 05:(Friday)Hospet

Arrive at Hospet. After breakfast, depart for Hampi, home to the stunning ruins which are a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Visit the Virupaksha Temple, Queens's bath, Elephant stables, Royal enclosure, Hazara Rama Temple and the local crafts bazaar. Return to The Golden Chariot for lunch before setting off to visit the architectural masterpiece ? the 15th century Vittala Temple with its beautiful Stone Chariot. Return to The Golden Chariot and enjoy dinner on board. Overnight on the train.

Day 06:(Saturday)Badami

Morning departure from Hospet to Badami. Breakfast on board The Golden Chariot. Upon arrival at Badami, proceed for sightseeing tour of the 7th century Badami Caves and the 8th century monuments at Pattadakal, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Return onboard The Golden Chariot for lunch. Later depart for Goa. Relax and enjoy the spa, gym and other facilities on board the train. Dinner on board The Golden Chariot. Reach Goa past midnight. Overnight on the train.

Day 07:(Sunday)Goa

Post breakfast, set off on a sightseeing tour of Goa. Visit the famous churches of Old Goa. Visit an old Portuguese house; Sola Souto Maior for tea/coffee and cookies; shopping at the emporium. Lunch at the Majorda Beach Resort. Later you could relax at the beach or opt for an Ayurvedic massage, a visit to the casino or a dip in the pool. Return to The Golden Chariot for dinner and overnight. Depart for Bengaluru.

Day 08:(Monday)Bengaluru - Bhubaneswar

Enjoy breakfast on board The Golden Chariot. Disembark at the Yeswanthpur Railway Station at 11:00 hours. Later shall board your connecting train back home with sweet memories of holidays.
